installing glass tile backsplash?

I recently bought a house and would like to install a glass tile back splash in my kitchen. From what I have read, installing this over drywall is not a good idea. Is there a product or board (that is thin) that I could place over the drywall without having to remove the drywall? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Answer by happyNo - it would look just fine as long as it compliments the floor - if you have a stove against the back splash - make sure you use the smoothest tiles possible - it would be easy to clean

How do you protect glass tile backsplashes?

I'm installing a custom glass tile backsplash in my kitchen and want to know if there is some type of film or sealant to put on the area behind the stove. I want to protect it from heat and oil while cooking.

Answer by mindshiftThe glass tiles and grout won't be harmed by the heat of the stove. It's the grout between the tiles that might soak up any oil that splatters. You need a grout sealer. Some are added before
